Once Upon A Time In Mumbai- Big Expectation to open: In a year, there are those 8–10 films that give out right signals right from the time the first promo hits the air. Once Upon A Time In Mumbai is one such fortunate films that has treaded just the right path to reach the kind of comfort stage that it finds itself in today.
Just about everything seems to be going positively for this Milan Luthria film as of now. Whether it is it’s casting (Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi), edgy look, and dramatic premise and, of course, the music which is topping the charts – everything is contributing to ensure that Once Upon A Time In Mumbai takes a very positive start at the box office.
In fact, the way this crime thriller has been hyped, it should find patronage in single screens as well as multiplex audience, something which is a rarity in today’s times. Though family audiences may keep away initially due to the gangster theme, youth and audience from interiors can be expected to ensure that the film manages an opening in the range of 70–80 percent for itself. The collections should be comparable to some of the best this year and it would be a surprise if the film garners anything less than 30 crores in the first week itself, hence turning out to be one of the best for Emraan at the least.
Another advantage that the film carries is the fact that it is arriving solo. Also, with Khatta Meetha not quite turning out to be a hurricane, there are audiences hungry for exciting cinema. Next week too there is only a single release in the form of Aisha which looks interesting but still provides enough space for OUATIM to enjoy a continued run. Until and unless this Ekta Kapoor film is outrightly bad (which, as per industry buzz, is definitely not the case) and sees the kind of fate that was meted out to Kites and Raavan after a multi-crore opening led to lack of audience in weekdays to follow, there is no reason why OUATIM should not enjoy a hit tag for itself.

Ajay Devgan New Film 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbai' Promotion
Ajay Devgan's New Film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Promotion:The normally reclusive Ajay Devgan who is playing a gangster in his next release, Ekta Kapoor's Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, is so charged about his film that he has agreed to go on an inter-city tour across nine Indian cities to promote it. This is the first time that he is taking on a promotional tour of this scale.Ajay Devgan says, "I am extremely excited about the film. The music has caught on and there's a very good buzz about the film so I thought I should also go all out and promote it the best way I can. This will be the first time I will be travelling to nine cities to promote a film."
Before Raajneeti released, he was not able to promote the film, as he was shooting for Golmaal 3 at the same time. But for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, he kept his date diary free. Ajay adds, "This time I planned it in such a way that I am completely free to promote Ekta's film.
I have given 10 days for it and even cancelled some of my shoots so I can travel wherever they want me to go!"
Vivek Malhotra, CEO, Balaji Telefilms, confirms, "Ajay was convinced about our marketing strategy. He asked intelligent, relevant questions about the concept, and once he was convinced, he assured us of his whole-hearted support.
Besides Ajay, we are also taking Emraan Hashmi, Kangna Ranaut and Prachi Desai across 14 cities including Ranchi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Jaipur apart from the metros Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai according to their schedules."
The film's team will engage with fans across the country. Malls will have themes which salute the '70s and have vintage cars in their parking space. Theater ushers will be dressed in retro gear. There will be contests where participants will be given tickets with half an image. If the image matches the one on the ticket given at the refreshment counter, they can win lots of prizes.
Kangana Ranaut New Film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai gets superstitious
Kangana Ranaut Movie Gossips: Director Milan Luthria’s film Once Upon A Time In Mumbai was slated to release on July 30. But now thanks to its lead actress Kangana Ranaut - or rather her trusted astrologer Pallavi - the film will make it to the theatres on July 29.
Apparently, according to Pallavi, the film will fare well at the theatres if it releases a day before its scheduled date of July 30. When Kangana learnt this she informed her producer Ekta Kapoor who we all know is a staunch believer in astrology, numerology and what not.
After confirming Pallavi’s credentials from Kangana, Ekta swung into action and chalked out a new release date for the film which is now just a month away.
Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, starring Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi, will now release outside Mumbai on July 29. Since Ekta couldn’t get bookings for the same day in theatres in Mumbai, she would now have special paid previews on the evening on July 29 in Mumbai.
Call it the power of stars - the ones above our heads.
