Ashwarya Rai Bachchan adopting two cancer patients: Te Rose Day at Cancer Patients Aid Association turned out to be an evening to remember for the cancer patients as they took to the stage with Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Few people know that Ash has been associated with the CPAA for some years now. She spoke about her association with the organisation ever since she won the Miss World title.

Not just that, the actress also announced that she will be adopting two cancer patients for their treatment. She even urged others to do the same. Akshay, whose father battled the dreaded disease, shared his memories with those present.

The actor said that he had seen his father fighting cancer with a lot of courage. But the event was not just about emotional talk. It also included many superb dance performances. The two actors too readily took to the stage at the event to shake a leg with the kids. Besides Ash and Akki, the event was also attended by Neerja Birla and model Kalpana Malviya.

Fulfilling a promise that he had made to the children earlier, he cut a birthday cake with them at BIG IMAX Cinemas in Wadala, Mumbai on Sunday evening, September 12.
The kids address him as Vivek Bhaiya. He laughed and joked with them, signed autographs and posed with them for photos.

Vivek came to the children's event after the Ganapati immersion ceremony, sporting a red tilak that, because of his chunky moustache, perfectly matched his Rakht Charitra look.

He wore a turquoise tee, dark blue jeans and sneakers.

The Company star turned 34 on September 3; he celebrated the day in Goa with the new person in his life - fiancée Priyanka Alva, as well as family and friends.

Vivek and Priyanka will tie the knot on October 29. There are reports that the couple will get engaged later this week.
