Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar in Action Replayy |
Shaadi se accha tum le lo phaasi! The album starts with a thump as Zor Ka Jhatka throbs. The terrific song is laudable for its peppy music, which is a mix of retro and contemporary, and for spirited singing by Daler Mehndi and Richa Sharma. The funny prelude to the song which uses shehnai makes the song more entertaining. Single jhatka wasn’t enough and here is double dhamaka. The remix version of the song adds to the fun quotient of the album.
With O Bekhabar, feel love in the air, as the romance-eyed protagonists enact the clichéd running around the trees in the song. Shreya Ghosal’s mellifluous rendition is affable, that’s what makes the song fit for every ear.
He made us ‘twist’ early on and Pritam now presents an exciting rock n roll number Nakhre in the voice of Francois Castellino. DJ A-Myth’s remix version is high on entertainment. Aawaz Niche Kar, no way! Let’s move to the next track.
Taste the fervor of old festive songs with Chhan Ke Mohalla which easily takes you to the bygone decade with its nostalgic music. The dhapli beats and the use of folk music in the song make it a must in your playlist. Doubts! then hear the song twice to fully appreciate Sunidhi Chauhan and Ritu Pathak’s voice. Chhan Ke Mohalla (Tiger Remix), a mellowed down version of the original, also works for the Bollywood music lovers.
The next offering Tera Mera Pyaar is a bit different because it lacks the heady mix of retro. The track is more like a Bollywood love ballad - soft and very soothing to hear. The song will definitely have its female takers. The Hyacinth Remix of the song makes for a ‘kewl’ disc number.
Mika again gets it right with Dhak Dhak Dhak and you feel the tremendous energy rushing through your veins as the music sets you in celebration mood. Pritam introduces a bit of pop music in the album with Luk Chup Jaana. Tusli Kumar’s sassy voice does full justice to the number, and as KK wields the microphone, don’t we know it’s going to be first-rate.
This album exposes audiences to various sounds and music. So if you think rock or hip-hop is missing, here is Suraj Jagan singing I Am Dog Gone Crazy which will fulfill your desire to listen something that’s full of verve, typical of Pritam as he is a master in mixing and producing. And boys, there is no need to feel offended.
Baki Main Bhool Gayi continues the musical extravaganza. Shreya Ghosal gets to croon the song which seems to be inspired by popular Madhuri Dixit number Mera Piya Ghar Aaya. With this song the album comes to an end.
The music score of Action Replayy justifies the title of the film and makes us want to rewind whatever we hear. It’s a fun-filled, thrilling experience, highly enjoyable in every beat and moment. So, just let your hair down and replay the entire music album. Once more!
