Aishwarya Rai looking to join Salman, Shahrukh
Aishwarya Rai looking to join Salman, Shahrukh: Amitabh Bachchan, Salman, SRK and even her ‘Action Replayy’ co-star Akshay Kumar have done it. And what more; even hubby Abhishek Bachchan gave it an unsuccessful try in ‘Bingo’. We are talking TV and in an era where right from Salman to Amitabh is doing his own show, how can Aishwarya be left behind.
Reportedly, Aishwarya is all slated to do a reality show of her own. Currently, the talks are on and nothing has been finalised. Besides, Aish is super busy with two of her films (Action Replayy and Guzaarish) lined up for a release.
“Talks are on for a television show that I will be hosting. But my busy schedule stands as an obstacle,” cites Aishwarya.
Now looking back into the past, it all began with her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan invading the small screen with his bumper hit ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. Since then, game shows and reality shows have come a long way.
Advantages of doing Television:
1. Something different
2. Something challenging
3. Meaty money
4. Interaction with the general public
5. Interaction with the householders through TV
6. And personal and job satisfaction
However, it would still be some time before Aishwarya signs the deal and rams onto our TV channels. It’s a wait and watch for now.

Aishwarya Rai to attract the Directors at 37
Aishwarya Rai to attract the Directors at 37: For most leading ladies in tinsel town, their career takes a downfall after they touch 30. But certainly not in the case of Aishwarya Rai, who continues to flourish in Bollywood as she turns 37 on Monday and has two mega projects -- “Action Replayy” and “Guzaarish” -- lined up for release.
The former beauty queen has come a long way from being crowned Miss World in 1994, to working in Tamil films, moving to Bollywood and finally topping it up with international fame through movie projects as well as attending prestigious foreign film festivals. But all through her 13-year film career, filmmakers feel she has remained a director’s delight, and is here to stay for a long time to come.
“Aishwarya always followed me during the shooting of ‘Taal’, and is a complete director’s actor. I’m proud she has evolved so much as an actor.
She is giving good performances, she has achieved international fame, and she is leading a happy married life -- what else can she ask for from life? But she is as grounded as ever,” filmmaker Subhash Ghai told IANS.
The director, who worked with Aishwarya in 1999, says the actress will “definitely be in Bollywood for another 10 years” and is looking forward to associating with her once again.
Ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who gave Aishwarya’s career a big push with “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” followed by “Devdas”, says she is a timeless beauty.
“Aishwarya is my muse, my jaan and I get terribly excited when I make a film with her because she is very, very special. Some people are timeless and Aishwarya will be there for another 20 years,” said Bhansali, whose third project with the actress, “Guzaarish”, releases Nov 19.
Aishwarya, who married actor Abhishek Bachchan in 2007, has broken the notion that married actresses discontinue their film careers... and her husband is proud of her.
“I feel great about Aishwarya’s achievements, I’m very proud of her. Whatever adulation she has got, she truly deserves it. I’m happy that she broke the notion that women can’t work after marriage. Why are we so regressive in our thinking? If she wants to work, her audience wants to see her, what is people’s problem? I as a husband am very happy that she is doing so well. I think she is doing better work now,” Abhishek had said.
Aishwarya started acting in 1997 with Tamil film “Iruvar”, followed by her Bollywood debut in the same year opposite Bobby Deol in “Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya” -- both of which flopped.
But the next year, she won her first Filmfare Best Actress award South for Tamil film “Jeans”. She also bagged the Filmfare Best Actress Award for Bhansali’s “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”.
She gave a power-packed performance in “Taal”, but then delivered a string of duds like “Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai“(2000), “Dhai Akshar Prem Ke“(2000), “Albela” (2001), “Hum Kisise Kum Nahi“(2001).
But it was Bhansali’s “Devdas” that resurrected her career and fetched her another Filmfare award in the Best Actress category.
She also gave good performances in “Chokher Bali“(2002), “Raincoat” (2004), “Guru“(2006), “Dhoom 2”, “Provoked“(2007), “Jodhaa Akbar” (2008) and “Sarkar Raj” (2008). She recently featured in Mani Ratnam’s “Raavan” and opposite superstar Rajnikanth in “Robot”.
Some of her English projects include “Bride & Prejudice” (2003), “Mistress of Spices”, “The Last Legion” (2007) and “Pink Panther”.
According to a 2009 Forbes list, Aishwarya Rai is India’s most bankable star in Hollywood, and is also counted among the 100 most beautiful women in the world.
She has been attending many international film festivals and was also the first Indian actress to be on the jury of the Cannes Film Festival in 2003.
Now she is gearing up for the release of “Action Replayy” on Diwali and “Guzaarish”, and is busy promoting them. But she hopes to spend some time with her family as she steps into her new year.

Shahrukh Khan Boom in China!
Shahrukh Khan Boom in China!: From Berlin to Beijing, the world’s certainly becoming a smaller place for Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan.
Presently shooting Farhan Akhtar’s film Don 2 in Berlin, Shahrukh will now head to Beijing in China for the premiere of his film My Name Is Khan that had the worldwide release earlier this year. China has a very strict policy toward foreign films. Every year, just 20 foreign films get released in the country. This year, My Name Is Khan has the honour of being one of them. It’s also the first Hindi film to release in China in the last three decades. So the honour is all the more special.
Reports say the film will be premiered in Beijing on November 30. Director Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan are most certain to visit, but it’s unsure if Kajol, the film’s female lead, would join them. We also hear that Karan Johar will himself design SRK’s costume which will be a mix of Indian and Chinese style.
After all, aren’t Hindi, Cheeni bhai bhai?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Smoking not a big deal
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Smoking not a big deal: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a dedicated actress and can go to any extent for her role.
This was enunciated in a scene in GUZAARISH where she was required to smoke.
Here the scene required Aishwarya to smoke and in a fun manner.
It shows her with Hrithik Roshan in a car. Aishwarya takes a puff and immediately starts coughing. Hrithik cannot stop himself from laughing, which gets Ash giggling too.
The 36-year-old actress has never smoked in her life so it was a first for her but she indeed pulled it off very well. And the scene has come out perfect, just what the doctor ordered!

Kareena Kapoor love her voluptuous figure
Kareena Kapoor love her voluptuous figure: The trendsetter of size zero in Bollywood, actress Kareena Kapoor now ‘hates’ to be called size zero.
She has gained weight in right measure at right places, and now is in love with her zaftig, voluptuous figure.
Recently during the photoshoot for a shoe brand, Kareena, who is at her curvy best, did not opt for any photoshopped effects to make her pictures more photogenic they were shot.
She wasn’t conscious at all about her legs not looking lean. As a source tells a tabloid, “Kareena’s photos are natural as she never asks for airbrushed pictures.”
Usually celebrities ask for touchups but Kareena likes to keep it natural. For her upcoming films too she is without her size-zero frame. So, whether it’s Ra.One, Bodyguard, Agent Vinod or a Karan Johar film with Imran Khan, we will see Bebo in new avatar that is nowhere near her wispy look in Tashan or Kambakkht Ishq.
Yes Bebo, the audience too would love it. Is Saif Ali Khan saying ‘yeah!’.

Salman Khan's entry in 'Bigg Boss' house for special 'Dewali' episode
Salman Khan's entry in 'Bigg Boss' house for special 'Dewali' episode: Host banaa housemate. But only for a day. Salman Khan is set to enter the Bigg Boss house and spend an entire day with the housemates.
The star will step inside the Bigg Boss house in Lonavala for the special Diwali episode. He will spend the festive day with the housemates. The actor, who took over as a host of 'Bigg Boss 4' from Amitabh Bachchan, will add some spice to the show on Diwali.
Even as tension runs high about who would be evicted from the house next, Salman's visit has come as a relief to the residents as there wouldn't be any eliminations this week owing to his special appearance.
Looking forward to it.

Salman Khan back to 'Dus Ka Dum' on his own demand
Salman Khan back to 'Dus Ka Dum' on his own demand: Not the one to take a rebuke lying down, Salman Khan has finally made the broadcasters of the television show Dus Ka Dum kowtow to his demands.
Now, as the reports allege, Salman is set to return as the game show’s host for the third season, which will be go on air only next year. But what’s significant is Salman’s return to the show, which looked all but beleaguered in the flamboyant host’s absence.
As was reported earlier, Salman was set to host the third season this year, but the channel did not compromise on Salman’s demand for a fee hike. Last year, Salman had deliberately slashed his fee because the channel was reeling with the effects of economic recession. So the actor obviously did not take it kindly that the channel shot down his demand for a fee increment this year.
The result was that Salman bowed out of the show. The channel people obviously weren’t able to find a replacement for Salman. After all, who can match that charm, that spontaneity and those off-the-cuff wisecracks of Sallu?
Reports say that last week, the channel approached Salman again and agreed to do the show on his terms and conditions. Salman, too, did not show any airs and agreed to host the third season.
All’s well that ends well.

Movie Review 'Nakshatra'
Movie Review 'Nakshatra': A tacky thriller starring a rag-tag bunch of actors isn’t everybody’s idea of entertainment. Nakshatra, starring Shubh Mukherjee, Sabina Sheema, Milind Soman and Anupam Kher, is a dud of a thriller revolving around the burglary of a priceless diamond necklace and a bunch of usual suspects, including the film’s hero who ends up in the police net.
Ajay (Shubh) is a whizz when it comes to games and cracking codes. He’s also an aspiring scriptwriter, who pens a story about a theft in a jewellery museum, and in doing so he inadvertently cracks the security code of a real jewellery museum, where a real burglary takes place.
Though the film for which he wrote the script never gets made, bechara Ajay is nabbed by the police for stealing the nakshatra necklace. Inspector Gupte (Milind Soman) from crime branch is sure that Ajay is the culprit.
But when Ajay manages to flee to prove his innocence, Gupte smells a rat. He sees a carefully planned robbery in which Ajay is just a pawn.
There’s also the character of Ajay’s girlfriend Jiya (Sabina Sheema) who’s his moral support and a source of romantic escapade in the middle of all the bhaag daud.
Performances by all the actors are below par, but yes, the action scenes in the film do stand out. Shubh and Soman shine in a chase sequence when the former even manages to slide his bike under a trailer truck.
Having said this, Nakshatra fails to thrill because the story is just too over-the-top. The script is tacky and the twists and turns are placed as per the writer’s convenience without caring a hoot for authenticity and conviction. The climax when the villain tries to blow the heroine and hero with a bomb is outright funny without intending to. The songs add glamour but act as roadblocks.
All in all, this Nakshatra is a waste of time. Better watch the real Nakshatra, the great hunter Orion, in the eastern sky at night.

Movie 'Daayen Ya Baayen' Review
Movie 'Daayen Ya Baayen' Review: A sweet and simple film set in a tiny hamlet in the scenic foothills of the Himalayas, Daayen Ya Baayen has actor Deepak Dobriyal playing a klutzy school teacher who’s the butt of everyone’s joke.
Bela Negi, the first-time director, takes us into the lives of the village folk in a close-knit community through the story of Ramesh (Deepak) who left the village for the greener pastures of a city life but, unable to make himself a career as a writer, returns to the mountainous hamlet to his tetchy wife, an ailing mother, a cocky son and an unmarried sister-in-law.
He takes up the job of a school teacher and is often scorned at by all and sundry in the village for his quirkiness, one of them being taking a book along to read while defecating in an open field.
Fortune turns around in the humdrum life of this mediocre teacher when he wins a swanky red car in a television contest. Overnight, the bumbling schmuck becomes a hero in everybody’s eyes. But sooner than expected his dream-come-true becomes a nightmare. How?
Deepak Dobriyal’s slightly over-the-top portrayal of a gauche teacher suits the requirement of the film quite well. The campiness in his character is endearing to watch, particularly after he wins the car but can’t maintain it, nor pay for its fuel. The film’s other star is Amlan Dutta’s camera which beautifully captures the rural idyll of Uttarakhand.
The film runs out of fuel in the second half when the story stretches on and on without reaching anywhere. One gets the impression that Bela Negi had too much film stock but not enough grain in the story to tell.
As a result, Daayen Ya Baayen ends up as strictly a one-time watch film, that too for those who can sit through slow and sluggish arty movies.

Katrina Kaif as Radha in her next Film on 'Lord Krishna'
Katrina Kaif as Radha in her next Film on 'Lord Krishna': Bollywood’s most gorgeous actress is set to turn Radha in a film on Lord Krishna. Katrina Kaif has agreed to make a guest appearance as the lover of Krishna.
Katrina’s hairstylist Promila Hunter is set to produce a film titled ‘Main Krishna Hoon’ to be directed by Rajiv S Ruia who recently made My Friend Ganesha. When Promila asked Katrina if she would make a guest appearance in the film, the actress agreed readily. She did not even inquire about her role. It was later that she came to know that she’ll be playing Radha.
The movie will primarily focus of Lord Krishna’s life, from his childhood pranks to amorous flirtations with gopis. Katrina will have a small role but she’s taking it seriously and has started reading relevant books to understand Lord Krishna’s story and his relation with Radha.
Apparently, Katrina will do this cameo for free.

Hrithik for a cameo in SRK's Don 2
Hrithik for a cameo in SRK's Don 2: While alongside Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan may be sniffing butterflies in the stomach for the upcoming magnum opus ‘Guzaarish’, the grapevine has it that he is also shooting for a cameo in Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘Don 2’.
That is precisely why he is currently stationed in the German capital of Berlin. It was being speculated that he is there to celebrate SRK’s birthday which falls on 2nd November. But looks like the real reason is being kept a secretive affair!
Don 2 is directed by Farhan Akhtar and is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani. Hrithik is buddies with both having worked in their ‘Lakshya’. Besides, Hrithik is also doing Farhan’s sis Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ which also stars the vivacious Katrina Kaif. Hence, it is understandable that when Farhan requested Hrithik for a cameo in Don 2, he couldn’t refuse.
And it is apparently a great ploy to bring the SRK-Hrithik duo on screen again after they brewed great riveting chemistry in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’. Besides, since Don 2 is replete with daredevil scenes, it would be interesting to see if the hunky Hrithik gives SRK a run for his money.
